    26 Cyclists on city roads

From the linked article: ‘... more than one in ten people [have] deliberately driven their car close to a cyclist.’

I’m fairly certain this isn’t an exclusively Australian problem. I’ve experienced the same myself while riding to the point where I consciously steer farther away from cyclists than I do from other motorists. There are other imbalances to this as well, from something as small as honking all the way to believing cyclists do not have right of way on the road at all. This needs to change soon; spreading awareness of this issue can help some but spreading a genuine love for cycling can help a lot more.

This is a note: a brief thought or notable piece of information from my commonplace book. For longer writings, please turn to the ‘Essays’ section.
