On coffee and Satan

Fascinating read about how coffee was originally seen as an un-Christian drink associated primarily with muslims, and by extension with infidels and Satan, until Pope Clement VIII tried a cup in the 1600s and declared it no longer a drink for infidels alone. Keep in mind the article does not cite any sources, but those, if they do exist, are probably not hard to find given there are records of Papal activities from before the 17th century. Regardless, this at least makes for some fun thoughts.
